FIELD: building materials, in particular, protection against ionizing radiation, manufacturing of protection coating and articles. SUBSTANCE: weight percentage of constituents in composite material is as follows: 9.0-11.0% of water glass, 0.5-0.6% of sodium silicon- fluoride, 82.5-85.5% of filling, and 5.0-5.9% of polystyrene. Density of material is within range of 3300-3400 kg per cubic meter, strength against pressure - 6.0-6.5 MPa, heat conductivity - 0.165-0.187 W per meter, gamma radiation linear factor - 0.22-0.26 per cm for power of gamma quanta within range of 0.5 through 3.5 MeV; neutron radiation absorption factor - 0.07-0.091 per cm for neutron power within range of 0.4 through 2.5 MeV. EFFECT: decreased heat conductivity, while keeping high density of material, increased protection against neutron and gamma radiation. 2 tbl
