FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: in order to improve quality of metal and reduce consumption of vanadium-containing ferroalloys, final melting of metal is carried out in ladle of a furnace-ladle installation, where metal is heated 70-90 C above liquidus temperature, after which vanadium slag, ferrosilicon, and solid slag-forming materials are added. Consumption of vanadium slag represents 3.7 to 7.5 kg per 1 t of steel. Powdered silicocalcium is added at the end of final melting. Ratio of vanadium slag, ferrosilicon, and powdered silicocalcium is 1:(0.15-0.40):(0.10- 0.15). When necessary, vanadium content is adjusted by adding supplementary vanadium slag 20-25 min after its first addition. EFFECT: improved product quality of product and reduced vanadium consumption. 2 cl, 4 tbl
