FIELD: petrochemical syntheses. SUBSTANCE: diolefins contained in light naphtha are hydrogenated in order to produce tert-amyl methyl ether by feeding the first stream of light naphtha containing diolefins and the second stream containing hydrogen into distillation column- reactor to be brought into contact with hydrogenation catalyst. The latter represents in reactor a structure capable function as catalytic rectification structure producing pentenes and other hydrogenation products in reaction mixture at such operation pressure providing evaporation of a part of reaction mixture and maintaining specified temperature. From this column, liquid vat residue and top vapor fraction together with unreacted hydrogen are taken off. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 15 cl, 4 dwg, 3 tbl
