DAMPER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: dampers for suppression of vibrations of high-speed rotor at vertical axis of rotation. SUBSTANCE: damper includes movable stepped member supported as hinge in reservoir filled with liquid. In its upper portion movable member is fitted with bearing to give support for rotor and centering springs; its lower portion is made in form of hollow damping cylinder open from below. Transversal separating diaphragm is tightly connected with walls of reservoir and damping cylinder. Center of rotation of hinge coincides with plane of separating diaphragm which has low rigidity. EFFECT: simplified construction; enhanced efficiency in damping low-frequency and high-frequency vibrations of rotor; enhanced stability of damping characteristics and reliability of operation. 3 cl, 1 dwg
