FIELD: paint-and-varnish industry. SUBSTANCE: starting batch for ceramic pigment is composed of, wt %: aluminum oxide, 27-44; aluminum powder, 8-15; boric acid, 1- 5; dye, 2-32; magnesium nitrate, 15-39; magnesium oxide, 1-15. Batch is ground, thoroughly agitated, and inflamed from electric lighter with assistance of thermite explosive cartridge or weighed amount of aluminum-magnesium alloy. Thermal synthesis of pigment is carried out under burning conditions. Pigment is then disintegrated to particle size below 10 mcm.
