FIELD: refrigerating and heating engineering; technology of storage and production of various products in substances in industrial and domestic cooling and heating plants. SUBSTANCE: constant-temperature cabinet is placed at boundary of two external media at different temperature parameters and passive mode of heat exchange is performed at stabilizing temperature inside constant- temperature cabinet through ensuring heat exchange through walls of its housing with external space or atmosphere. Besides that, controllable heat exchange is effected through walls of housing with internal space at passive mode. Active mode of heat exchange is effected by means of reversible or non- reversible temperature unit. Shift from passive mode of heat exchange to active mode and vice versa, as well as control of heat exchange at passive mode is effected depending on results of comparison of temperatures of media used in heat exchange: temperature or external space or atmosphere (text), inner space (tin), inner volume of constant-temperature cabinet (tcab) and preset temperature (tpr) of inner volume of constant-temperature cabinet.
