FIELD: domestic equipment. SUBSTANCE: vacuum cleaner has cleaning attachment for sucking dust and dirt and device for illuminating surface to be cleaned. Illuminating device has lamp mounted within slot in front part of cleaning attachment for illuminating surface to be cleaned in horizontal plane. Lamp is preferably halogen lamp of predetermined length. Slot has outer air inlet openings provided with filter preventing dust and dirt from entering into slot. Illuminating device may be removably mounted on cleaning attachment and has casing and lamp mounted within casing. Casing has locking members inserted into slot in cleaning attachment so that illuminating device is connected with cleaning attachment. EFFECT: simplified construction by eliminating light guide from vacuum cleaner design and enhanced reliability in operation. 8 cl, 7 dwg
