FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises continuous counterflow carbonization in column containing aqueous sodium chloride solution on contact elements with carbon dioxide in the presence of diethyl amine solution into equal, at least four portions, but not more than the number of contact elements, addition of said portions into carbonization column directly under elements, separation of the resulting sodium bicarbonate on filters and calcination of said sodium bicarbonate, and distillation of filter liquid. Prior to being admitted into carbonization column, aqueous sodium chloride solution containing diethyl amine is ammoniated to NH3 to NaCl molar ratio of 0.2-0.32, and said solution is carbonized at 30-54 C. The claimed method makes it possible to increase yield of sodium bicarbonate to 97%. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 1 tbl
