FIELD: inorganic compounds technologies.

SUBSTANCE: ammonia process for producing soda ash comprises preparation (in absorption stage) of ammonia-saturated purified brine, preliminary carbonization of ammoniated brine, carbonization of pre-carbonized liquid, separation of resulting hydrocarbonate on filters, washing with water at 30-40°C to remove chloride ions, calcinations of sodium hydrocarbonate, and distillation of filtrate. Removal of chloride ions is effected until content of the latter in sodium hydrocarbonate entering calcinations stage achieves 0.075-0.190% NaCl, while pH of wash water is 8.5-8.7 and consumption thereof is 0.40-0.95 m3/t. Electrical conductivity of filtrate is 35.25-41.00 Sm/m.

EFFECT: reduced dissolution of sodium hydrocarbonate in filtration stage, improved quality of sodium hydrocarbonate entering calcinations stage, increased yield of sodium hydrocarbonate, reduced amount of distilled liquid, and reduced consumption of steam on distillation of filtrate.
