FIELD: electrolytic technics. SUBSTANCE: electrode of invention can be applied when estimating corrosion danger and efficacy of protection of underground metallic structures. Electrode contains non-conducting casing with coupling. Casing is filled with electrolyte consisting of saturated cupric sulfate solution in water- ethylene glycol mixture. Into casing, a copper rod is imbedded. To improve accuracy of measuring potentials at different thickness of insulation coatings on underground structure, potential sensor is provided with removable attachment. To prolong lifetime and potential stability of reference electrode, at least two ion-exchange membranes are mounted on electrode casing. Coupling of casing has bottom with perforations against mechanical damages occurring when mounting and operating electrode. Removable attachment on potential sensor is mounted in dependence on thickness of insulation layer on underground structure. EFFECT: increased reliability and lifetime of electrode. 2 cl, 1 dwg
