FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electrode has a dielectric housing, filled with a solution of copper sulphate electrolyte, in which a spiral-shaped copper electrode is immersed. A membrane is sealed to the bottom of the housing so as to provide for electrochemical contact of the electrode with the ground. A potential sensor is attached to the side wall of the housing. Output leads of the copper electrode and the potential sensor are connected to terminals for connection to a measuring device. A heterogeneous ion-conducting membrane is used and is made from a compact mixture of uniformly distributed particles of hydrophilic material in a hydrophobic binding material. The hydrophilic material used is pearlite and the hydrophobic binding material used is fluoroplastic in the following ratio of components, wt %: pearlite 5-15; fluoroplastic 90-95.
EFFECT: electrode is stable for 10 years.
