FIELD: thermal physics, precision measurement of heat of combustion of gaseous kinds of fuel. SUBSTANCE: method involves measurement of heat energy liberated in calorimetric vessel with combustion of gaseous fuel. Heat energy is accumulated in calorimetric vessel owing to melting of part of substance injected into vessel. Temperature of calorimeter envelope is kept constant in this case. Then crystallization of melted substance is carried out. Heat flux from calorimetric vessel to surrounding thermostated envelope is measured with the aid of bank of differential thermocouples. Combustion energy is evaluated by value of measured heat flux. Device measuring combustion energy includes thermostated envelope housing calorimetric vessel with combustion chamber. Combustion chamber is fitted with gas burner, heat exchanger and bank of differential thermocouples. Heat exchanger is put into calorimetric substance. Substance which melting temperature exceeds temperature of thermostating of envelope by 0.1-1.0 C is used in the capacity of calorimetric substance. Increased measurement precision of crystallization heat is achieved thanks to usage of calorimetric substance. EFFECT: increased measurement precision. 2 cl, 2 dwg
