FIELD: thermal physics. SUBSTANCE: in correspondence with calorimetric method heat energy released in calorimetric vessel in process of combustion of gaseous fuel is used for complete melting of calorimetric substance injected into vessel. Melting process is carried out in specified temperature interval symmetric relative to melting temperature of calorimetric substance. Temperature of jacket of calorimeter in this case is kept equal to melting temperature of calorimetric substance. Heat of combustion of gaseous fuel is equal to heat energy needed to heat up calorimetric substance in specified temperature interval and is established in process of electric calibration of calorimeter.
