FIELD: digital recording and playing equipment for video cassette recorders. SUBSTANCE: method involves splitting data area of video signal sector of corresponding tracks of magnetic tape into first, second and third regions; intermittent writing of normal reading data and data with special effects into first and third regions; writing normal reading data to second region. Data for reading with special effects which are stored in first and third regions are designed as frame data corresponding to maximal odd-factor speed from set of odd-factor speeds. Same special effect data are repeatedly stored to tracks which number is equal to double value of maximal odd-factor speed in order to provide possibility of sufficient quality for reading special effects data with various odd-factor speeds and using different scanning equipment.
