FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method is fit to process zinc cakes, ores, slags, and others. Materials are rolled in mixture with solid carbon reducing agent and calcium-containing flux, the latter being introduced into furnace by blowing it in with high-pressure (2-6 atm) air from discharge end of furnace toward clinker-formation zone in amount from 5 to 10% calcium oxide based on weight of clinker. EFFECT: prolonged furnace operation campaign due to increased lining resistance and reduced skull formation. 1 tbl
