FIELD: metallurgy of nonferrous metals, more particularly processing of zinc- indium containing materials, e.g. industrial products of electrolytic zinc production, namely zinc-containing cakes. SUBSTANCE: blend comprising, wt %: zinc-indium containing cake, 62-70; limestone, 4-8; zinc-chlorine waste, 0.5-2.5; and solid carbon reducing agent, the balance, is charged into rotary kiln. In this case, indium is concentrated into oxide, and residual content thereof in clinker is 60 g/t. Claimed blend makes it possible to reduce indium content in clinker and to increase service life of kiln lining. EFFECT: improved properties of the blend. 1 ex, 1 tbl
