FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, production of oxides of zinc and lead. SUBSTANCE: Zinc-carrying material, for instance, zinc cake in mixture with solid carbonaceous reductant is loaded into rotating tubular furnace and is subjected to forge-rolling. Unloading end of furnace has injector through which air-and-oxygen blast is fed along axis of furnace into zone of temperatures of 1200-1300 C under pressure of 4-6 atm. EFFECT: decreased consumption of fuel-reductant and content of zinc and lead in Waltz slag, prevented melting of material in zone of Waltz slag formation. 2 tbl
