APPARATUS FOR CUTTING COILS OF COVERING TAPE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: plastic material working, namely apparatuses for cutting coils of polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene films by disc cutter, possibly cutting similar coiled materials in machine engineering, building, chemical industry branches. SUBSTANCE: coil of covering tape is cut by portions by means of disc cutter which is symmetrically sharpened at both sides and eccentrically mounted on flange of reduction gear shaft. One portion is cut-off from coil at one revolution of reduction gear shaft. Coil is centered, mounted and fed with use of centering plunger and tubular head provided with automatic feed mechanism having fixing stop. Optimal diameter of cutting disc D is more than diameter d of coil by 4-5 times. Value l=D+d/2 is equal to distance between centers of drive shaft of disc cutter and coil. Optimal value of angle formed at crossing of straight line passing through centers of drive shaft of disc cutter and coil with horizon i is equal to 30 degrees. Mechanism for automatically feeding coil is in the form of feeding lever and arm joined with said lever and loaded by weights of balancing mechanism. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, operation reliability, high quality of cutting initial coil by predetermined-thickness small coils of covering tape. 3 cl, 2 dwg
