FIELD: mechanical engineering; mechanical machining of polymeric materials and other roll materials. SUBSTANCE: polyethylene film roll is cut into parts by means of cutting disk with bilaterally sharpened symmetrical edges which provides self-alignment of material under cutting. Film roll is installed for free travel along axis of shaft clamped between rotating centers of front and rear heads and is set into rotation by cutting disk providing self-alignment of cut material. Surface of shaft on to which roll is slipped has coating with low coefficient of friction, for instance, made of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride. Moving frame of disk knife secured on reduction gear shaft has feed limiter which precludes contact of disk with polyethylene coating of shaft and cutting of coating.
