FIELD: filing equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has container receiving carriage, carriage driving device made in the from of nut connected with carriage, actuating screw with drive, guides for moving carriage in both directions, and reducer connected with drive. Reducer has wheels kinematically connected one with another and adapted for carrying hollow drills. Apparatus is further provided with block of needles positioned in opposed relation to drills, device for rotating needles through 90 deg and hook for drawing flexible member through loops, which are defined by flexible member, when the latter is drawn by needles through openings in stack of documents. To stitch stack of documents, container carrying stack of documents is mounted on carriage and fixed by clamping nut. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified stitching process and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 dwg
