FIELD: inductive energy storage. SUBSTANCE: magnetic coil has main and auxiliary windings made of composite superconductor, winding insulator, fastening structure with cooling ducts, bander, coil supply system, and device for introducing energy stored in coil; the latter is installed in cryostat with cryogenic system connected to cooling ducts and to cryostat. Auxiliary winding turns are placed along main winding turns and are supplied with opposing current relative to that fed to main winding. Coil supply system is designed to energize main winding with current flowing in one and auxiliary one, with current flowing in opposite direction. EFFECT: reduced mechanical stresses built up when coil is energized. 7 cl, 3 dwg
