SUBSTANCE: before surfacing necking portion of roller and portion of roller barrel adjacent to it and spaced by distance no less than 0.15 diameter of roller barrel are heated. up. Surfacing is realized at electric current no more than 400 A and at rate no less than 12 m/h after heating until 300-350 C. After surfacing necking portion of roller and portion of roller barrel adjacent to it are subjected to heat treatment. Said portions are heated at rate no more than 100 C/h up to 450-500 C, seasoned for 1.5-2 hours, cooled at rate no more than 80 C/h until 150 C and then they are cooled in open air. Such modes may be used for heat treatment of the whole roller. EFFECT: high quality of surfacing roller necking portions, prevention of quenching zone of neck-barrel transition, lowered possibility of damage at operation. 4 cl
