FIELD: mechanical engineering; continuous moulding of end sections of plastic pipes. SUBSTANCE: moulding head has die with space for taking in thermally softened end sections of pipes. Channels for compressed gas are provided in die. Moulding damper is inserted into end section of pipe. Damper is arranged coaxially with die and is provided with channels for compressed gas. Flange is installed coaxially for sliding relative to damper and die. Pushing surface of flange is compatible with end face of pipe end section. Sealing members arranged on die and damper are design for providing interaction of outer surface and inner surface of pipe end section. Die, damper and flange form moulding chamber for end of pipe. Moulding chamber is divided by pipe into first and second higher pressure gas chambers. First of these chambers is formed between cross surface of damper and inner surface of pipe. Second chamber is formed between outer surface of pipe and inner surface of die. Gas is delivered into chambers for successively widening the end of pipe over circumference and compressing the pipe end to form ribs on pipe. EFFECT: possibility of moulding conical ends of polyethylene pipes with control of shape and dimensions of pipe ends in process of machining. 7 cl, 11 dwg
