FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, production of alloyed steel for cold-drawn welding wire used for welding of structures operating under conditions of subzero temperatures. SUBSTANCE: steel contains its components in the following ratio, wt.%: carbon, 0.04-0.06; silicon, 0.15-0.25; manganese, 0.9-1.2; nickel, 0.9-1.2; chromium, not more 0.20; calcium, 0.001-0.05; aluminum, 0.01-0.03; sulfur, not more 0.008; phosphorus, not more 0.008; nitrogen, not more 0.010; oxygen, not more 0.005; iron, the balance. Content of active oxygen in total content of oxygen in steel is at least 75%. Active oxygen in steel is contained in the form of dissolved oxygen which may react in the course of welding and its amount may be measured with the help of oxidation transducers. EFFECT: production of alloyed steel for cold-drawn welding wire for welding of structures operating under conditions minus 40-60 C, increased impact strength and strength of welded joint. 1 tbl
