FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to dams which are erected from local materials in severe climatic conditions. Dam has core 1, filters 2-5 in head side and tail side, head side prism 6 and tail side prism 7, top unit 8 made of filtering non-swelling ground, water-impermeable member 9, and water-collecting ditch 10. Water-impermeable member 9 is built from rolled material in its head part which is steeply inclined towards upstream water. Water-impermeable member 9 creates counterfiltration diaphragm within limits of dam top unit. Tail part of water-impermeable member which is slightly inclined towards downstream water creates covering of ridge of core 1 and tail side filter 4. Water-collecting ditch 10 is provided in dame ridge 13 in filtering top unit 8 and above head part of water-impermeable member 9. Surface of dam ridge 13 is made with incline towards water-collecting ditch 10. Water-collecting ditch 10 is divided over its length by ground partitions 14 into separate feeding sections. Height h of top unit 8 is larger than depth h of its seasonal freezing. Application of aforesaid arrangement of dam allows for increasing its reliability and repairability, and for reducing cost of dam top unit warming. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
