FIELD: analysis of natural and process water, biological samples, geological samples, and air. SUBSTANCE: atomizer is placed in discharge chamber filled with inert gas Kr or Xe. Atomizer is, essentially, thin-walled cylindrical metal cathode. Cathode is heated together with atomized sample to 800-1400 C. Inert gas pressure within discharge chamber is maintained at 10-15 tor.
