FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: analyser includes optically linked photodetector, analytical cuvette, radiation polarisation modulator and spectral lamp, having a discharge chamber situated between magnetic poles and linked with electric discharge excitation means, wherein the spectral lamp contains a buffer gas and mercury, as well as a gas system which links, through gas communication, the sampling port of the analyser with the input port of the analytical cuvette; the gas system includes three gas channels connecting the sampling port of the analyser with the input port of the analytical cuvette through a gas channel selector. One of said gas channels is provided with means of removing benzene from the gas stream, one is provided with means of removing mercury from the gas stream, one transmits mercury, one transmits benzene and one transmits mercury and benzene in a different degree.

EFFECT: invention reduces the effect of benzene on the result of determining mercury content in analysed gas.
