SUBSTANCE: eddy-current metal locator has alternating-current generator, variable-reluctance pickups with magnetizing and receiving coils, compensators of voltages induced in receiving coils by fields of magnetic coils, AC voltage amplifiers, and synchronous detectors of cophasal and quadrature components. Metal locator also includes the first and second filters of DC components, full-wave rectifiers, voltage analog adders, the first and second phase shifters, switch, point indicator, voltage-controlled frequency generator, and sound indicator.
