FIELD: formation of protective layer on conjugating surface, for instance, metal or wood. SUBSTANCE: method includes first preparation of article surface. Surface on metal articles may be prepared by cleaning the surface and subsequent holding it in concentrated phosphoric acid. Surface on wood articles may be prepared by thorough cleaning of surface with the help of hot water and detergent (only). Preferably, surface is prepared to form uniform continuous layer of liquid. After preparation of surface, applied to it is 10-16 vol.% silicate-contanining solution for 20 s and let it fully dry at temperature of 151.7 C for formation of a layer of silicate material over the surface. During drying, at least one part of sodium silicate is converted into silicon dioxide. The, applied to surface is acid to form protection layer.
