FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: heating pipes in the furnace for solid material revolving about its longitudinal axis (if viewed in cross-section) are positioned along the wall of the inner space. The distance between the heating pipes and the inner space wall and the relative distance of the heating pipes are less than the diameter of one heating pipe. The above distances are within 20 to 40 mm. Blind pipes are located between separate heating pipes for minor dismantling, they have the same diameter as the heating pipes. The inner space accommodates additional pipes, which (when viewed in cross-section) are arranged in irradial rows. Each row begins approximately on the inner wall and passes from it to the inner space, it may be bent (proceeding from the inner wall) against the direction of revolution, and may be straight directed and inclined (proceeding from the inner wall) against the direction of revolution. In the inner space provision may be made for longer and shorter irradial rows. Heating pipes located at least along the inner space wall of the furnace are furnished with impact- reflecting shells for protection against damage. Only small waste material can be fed to the furnace inner wall, and the inner wall practically in not loaded mechanically. Besides, in case of a pyrolysis reactor or low-temperature carbonization drum a good heat exchange from heating pipes into the gas atmosphere and layer of small material is attained. Heat radiated from heating pipes radially outside is thus very well used. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 10 cl, 3 dwg
