AUTOCLAVE WOOD IMPREGNATION METHOD Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: wood-working industry, in particular, protective treatment of wood. SUBSTANCE: method involves alternative action of static and variable pressures upon wood by initial vacuumizing; filling autoclave with impregnating liquid and raising pressure to working level; providing variations of pressure with amplitude ranging between 0.05 and 0.5 MPa and frequency within the range of 2-40 Hz; holding at static pressure and subjecting to repeated action of variable pressure. Number of altrating repeated cycles depends on required impregnation rate and depth. Variable pressure values and amplitude-frequency characteristics depend on kind of wood. EFFECT: increased impregnation depth and intensified impregnation process.
