FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to facilities for impregnation of wood with protective compositions, in particular antiseptic and may be used in power industry for impregnation of power transmission line supports. Suggested method consists in the following: water-soluble antiseptic prior to impregnation is exposed to effect of nanosecond electromagnet pulses, having the following parameters: duration of pulse is 0.5 ns, amplitude of pulse is at least 8 kV, power in one pulse is more than 1 MW, frequency of pulse repetition is at least 1.0 kHz. Radiation of water-soluble antiseptic prior to process of impregnation makes it possible to reduce process of impregnation down to one hour. It is explained as follows. When aqueous radiation of antiseptic is radiated with short but powerful electromagnetic pulses, pulse radiolysis takes place, in process of which very active reagents - hydrated electrons - are produced, having high reduction-oxidation potential and having high mobility. Hydrated electrons are very active chemical particles and cause splitting of hydrogen atoms from liquid molecules. Interaction of hydrated electrons and hydrogen atoms with impregnation liquid results in activation of molecules of the latter and reduction of its viscosity, which leads to, as a consequence, acceleration of impregnation process approximately by 30%.

EFFECT: reduced energy intensity of impregnation process due to reduction of its duration.
