FIELD: microwave technics. SUBSTANCE: heater can be used as structural element of microwave muffle furnaces used for drying, sintering, and melting various ceramic materials and metals, and also for synthesizing inorganic compounds. Heater comprises working medium made of material containing silicon carbide with 12-16% of modifier composed of iron silicide, aluminum and silicon oxides, and ceramic binder C leucoxene concentrate obtained from titanium-containing oily ore, the latter constituting 10.0-60.0% of total weight of heater and modified silicon carbide 40.0-90.0. Heater is manufactured by mixing original components with organic binder taken in quantity 3-5%, pressing and then thermally treating mixture: first at 100-200 and then at 1250-1400 C in oxidative atmosphere.
