FIELD: road maintenance and municipal machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: this is intended for removing slippery ice cover from surface of streets, roads, footways, etc. Device has hollow roll which is pivotally installed on chassis. Holes are made in working surface of roll. Roll is embraced at top and sides with heat-insulating jacket with clearance. Source of hot gas is directed by its nozzle into internal space of roll. Secured on both side ends of roll are rims for travel with clearance above ice surface. Open-flame burner or exhaust gases from engine can be used as source of hot gases. Application of aforesaid embodiment of device allows for reducing power needed for removing slippery ice cover. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 2 dwg
