FIELD: detection of traces of heavy and toxic metals. SUBSTANCE: process of manufacture of modified electrode for inverse volt-ampere method determining traces of heavy and toxic metals uses disposable thick-film graphite electrode with flat surface or flexible electrode in the form of graphite thread modified by technique of adsorption of organic matter selective for particular metal followed by formation of insoluble composition of this metal obtained by deposition on electrode surface of organic matter ( for instance, sodium diethylditiocarbiminate, ammonium pyrrolidinditiocarbomonate, antipyrin, nitrozonathtol, rodamine B, etc.) in the form of aqueous solution of 0.04-0.2% concentration and metal salt in the form of aqueous solution of 0.2-10.0 g/l concentration in turn. Surface of modified electrode is subjected to electrochemical preparation involving alternation of overlay of pulses of potential in interval -1.4 V+1.3 V and constant potential of -1.4 V-0.8 V.
