FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: working surface of the indicating electrode is modified with silver amalgam by sequent electrochemical applying of mercury and silver. Mercury is electrolyzed on the working surface of the electrode from the solution of mercury keeping the current constant, 1.5 mA, for 600-800 s and weak mixing of the solution. The mercury-film electrode is washed by twice-distilled water, submerged into the solution of silver sodium, and electrolyzed keeping current constant, 0.8-1.0 mA, the solution being weakly mixed until metallic brightness of the electrode disappears.
EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity.
