FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: polarizer incorporates polarization aid to split collection of non-polarized light beams into collection of similar pairs of light beams polarized in various ways and aid to change their polarization. Polarization aid is manufactured in the form of microfocusing optical elements optically matched with aid changing polarization and having at least one layer of birefrigent material bordering on one layer as minimum of isotropic material. At least one birefrigent layer is anisotropically absorbing and has refractive index growing with increase of length of wave of polarized light. Microfocusing optical elements can be fabricated in the form of volumetric lenses or amplitude zone plates. Aid to change polarization can be made in the form of either sectionalized clear birefrigent plate with sections located in focuses or outside of focuses of microfocusing optical elements or sectionalized clear polymerized planar layer of liquid crystal. EFFECT: increased quality of conversion, enhanced degree of conversion of non-polarized light to polarized one thanks to light falling at angle. 7 cl, 5 dwg
