FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacture of long stranded superconductors. SUBSTANCE: method involves deformation of complex blank built up of sheath and desired number of gaging parts of cut deformed blank to produce long conductor, covering of conductor sheath with insulating coat of high oxygen penetration by applying organometallic compound of metal concentration of 25-40 g/l metal mixture onto sheath surface, followed by low-temperature treatment at 350-400 C; then conductor is wound and subjected to high-temperature treatment. Stranded conductor obtained in this way possesses high critical properties independent of coating.
