Corresponding method involves triggering said unit for detection of power to be emitted, receiving measured value of emission power, comparison of emission power to corresponding value for idle channel, and regulation of variable attenuator in order to increase or decrease emission power of said transmitter by level of difference between two said values, in case if they differ. Pilot signal channel, synchronization signal channel and pager channel are used as idle channel.
