SUBSTANCE: complex addition contains, wt.%: silicon, 45.0-55.0; aluminum, 0.2-5.0; carbon, 0.1-10.0; magnesium, 1.2-6.0; rare-earth metals, 0.3-0.4; sodium, 2.0-7.0; calcium, 0.2-5.0; iron, the balance. The complex addition may contain the elements in the form of briquetted mixture of dusty wastes of iron-magnesium alloying composition, soda ash and water glass with the following ratio of components, wt.%: dusty wastes of iron-magnesium alloying composition, 65.0-70.0; soda ash, 15.0-25.0; water glass, 10.0-15.0. The complex addition ensures improvement of mechanical properties of steel due to improvement of conditions of metal desulfurization, reduced expenditures for steel production due to utilization of dusty wastes of iron-magnesium alloying compositions.
