FIELD: metallurgy; may be used in production of ferroalloys. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of materials containing alloying metal and flux to depth of melt based on iron or on its derivatives. Carbon-containing material is introduced at regulated rate to bath and/or to gas space above bath. Oxidizing gas is supplied at regulated rate to surface and/or below the surface of melt. Oxygen-containing gas is supplied to gas space above melt bath with regulated rate. Heat of final combustion of combustible gases is used by its transfer to melt bath. Regulated also are oxidizing-reducing potential, reducing treatment of slag, discharge of melt of ferroalloy reduced from metal phase or from slag phase and slag. EFFECT: reduced power consumption; no using of electric energy due to using chemical energy and physical heat of gaseous products of reaction of smelting unit. 18 cl
