FIELD: variable static reactive- power compensators, regulators of sine-cosine banks of condensers; blowout devices for insulated-neutral lines. SUBSTANCE: reactor is actually inertialess device due to no DC current in its coils since time of reactor current variation from no current to rated value is 10 to 20 ms. Reactor has magnetic circuit, main coil 1, and control coil 3 with control switches 4-7 connected in parallel with control coil 3. Switch 7 is shorted through control coil 3; additional reactors 8-10 that function to restrict axes in control coil 3 are connected in series with remaining switches. Compensating coil is placed between control and main coils. EFFECT: provision for limiting higher harmonics in main- coil current; reduced stray losses caused by magnetic circuit and, consequently, reduced full losses in reactor. 5 cl, 6 dwg
