FIELD: veterinary medicine, in particular, obstetrics and gynecology. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding animals during puerperal period with feed containing medicinal additive for 15 days, with 20%-aqueous solution of potassium acetate or acetic acid potassium salt being used as medicinal additive. Total amount of medicinal additive fed to animal depends on clinical and physiological state of animal and normally ranges between 600 and 750 g per one animal. Method allows interval between birth, standing heat and fertile insemination periods to be reduced. EFFECT: increased efficiency in regulating cow productive ability and reduced number of repeated inseminations of aged cows. 2 tbl
