FIELD: food-processing industry, in particular, smoking of food product in high-voltage electrostatic field under home conditions. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying smoke through cavities with smoke separating screens to needle-shaped corona electrodes; placing food product in smoking zone between screens. Apparatus has housing with inclined smoke separating screens extending along housing sides so as to define cavities for passage of smoke-air mixture. Needle-shaped corona electrodes are mounted on screens in equally spaced relation. Food product holder is positioned between screens. Smoke generator and cooling radiator are disposed within housing. Apparatus is further provided with electronic control unit. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved quality and reduced power consumption. 7 cl, 2 dwg
