FIELD: wood drying technique; drying of starved oak; wood-working industry; manufacture of furniture. SUBSTANCE: method consists in stacking the blanks, subjecting them to microwave heating at blowing them with air fed from microwave generator cooling system. Prior to drying, stack is covered with moisture-proof film, for example with polyethylene film. First, blanks are heated to temperature of 58 to 60 C at 15-kW power of microwave generator, after which film is removed. Then blanks are dried to moisture content of 30 percent at 5-kW power of microwave generator, then to moisture content of 20 percent at 4-kW of microwave generator, then to moisture content of 12 percent at 3-kW of microwave generator and then to the required moisture content at 2-kW power of microwave generator. EFFECT: improved quality of dried blanks. 1 tbl
