FIELD: information equipment, in particular, systems for optical reading and writing information for long-term storage equipment, digital sound recording, peripheral storage devices. SUBSTANCE: method involves storage of information on carrier as pits by means of application of modulated laser beam to recording medium. Upon storage information is encoded by error-resistant code. Redundancy of error-resistant "y" code depends on estimated duration of information carrier storage according to equation y≥A*0,897*ln(a+t), where A is initial redundancy of error-resistant code, which depends on CD writing format, t is estimated time of storage (in years), a is coefficient, which depends on characteristics of working layer of optical disk; for example, a=3.049 for CD-R 74 optical disk (manufactured by TDK conforming to Orange Book specification, on polycarbone substrate). These data are produced from investigation of experimental results researching quality of optical storage by means of fast aging technique taking into account specific characteristics of writing information on optical disks. EFFECT: increased efficiency of writing and reading for WORM optical disk on polycarbone substrate. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
