FIELD: artillery ammunition. SUBSTANCE: stabilizing device has stabilizer blades hinge-joined with one end by axles on the body of the tail compartment, and a device for deployment of blades with a working member in the form of a piston freely installed in the central cylindrical cavity of the tail compartment. Installed on one side of the piston is a chamber gas-dynamically communicating with the after-shell space through a duct in the piston. The axles of the stabilizer blades are located in the front part of the tail compartment for turning the blades in the direction of shell motion. The rear edges of blades have recesses engageable with an annular flange formed on the external surface of the piston of the deployment device. The piston proper is furnished with a device for fixing the position, it is made in the form of a flexible opening collet with a bulge on the external surface of the slit end, fastened to the piston front end and resting with its bulge on the chamfer inclined surface made in the front part of the central cylindrical cavity of the tail compartment. The piston chamber accommodates a locking mechanism including an movable inertia body, whose annular groove accommodates a split ring and a stepped cylindrical bush with an annular groove on the inner surface installed between the inertia body and collet for two-position fixing of the position. A return spring is installed in-between the inertia body and piston. EFFECT: prevented impact of tail assembly against the gun barrel, decreased angle of blades, reduced time of their deployment and as a result, enhanced reliability on the whole. 3 dwg
