FIELD: diagnostic methods. SUBSTANCE: method consists in estimating glutathione level in erythrocytes of pancreatitis patient's blood and, if glutathione level lies between 0.15-0.32 mcmole/g, destructive, and at 0.9901-1.1 mcmole/g of glutathione, edematous forms of pancreatitis are stated. Method enables diagnosing destructive pancreatitis with good accuracy (in 95.6% observations), which gives indication of ordering complex of urgent treatment means.
