FIELD: cardiology. SUBSTANCE: invention may be used to determine individual sensitivity of patients to sea- origin therapeutic diets with different fatty acid composition. Newly admitted patent is subjected to taking the blood, which is placed into test-tube with heparin. Erythrocytes are separated by centrifugation, washed with 0.9% sodium chloride solution to remove plasma, and extracted by methods known in the art to isolate lipids. Fatty acids of erythrocytic lipids are methylated and methyl esters are chromatographically analyzed. From quantitative chromatographic analysis data, diagnostic coefficients for metabolic conversions of fatty acids are calculated. Character of variation of the latter with respect to standard is indicative of the outcome of diet therapy. Terms of correction of metabolic disturbances by polyunsaturated fatty acids are also determined. EFFECT: enabled choice of the most efficient course of diet therapy regarding duration, recycling of courses of treatment, and combination with other drug or drugless means. 3 tbl, 3 ex
