FIELD: ecology and agriculture, in particular, cleaning of natural basins contaminated with heavy metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating and aerating water; constructing channel communicated with natural basin; settling mollusks into channel. Water is aerated by means of lock disposed in zone where channel is communicated with water basin. Free end of channel is made dead. Channel is partitioned by overflow dam. Mollusks are settled in channel part between overflow dam and dead end. Method further involves placing artificial spawning devices for reproducing fish-plankton feeders; periodically withdrawing part of spawning devices from fish-plankton feeder excessive concentration zones and transferring them into part populated with mollusks, whose shell accumulates contaminations released from fish intestines; periodically removing contaminated mollusks from channel. EFFECT: simplified method, reduced cost by using live objects, such as plankton and fish, increased efficiency in cleaning natural basin water and improved ecology control. 1 ex
